Two podiums for Bell drivers, Louis Deletraz 1st place and Matthieu Vaxivère2nd place in the Formule V8 3.5 season opener

Louis Delétraz won the first race of the 2016 Formula V8 3.5 championship, the first in the new era of the series, at Motorland Aragón today. Starting from the outside pole, the Swiss Fortec Motorsports driver, part of the Renault Sport Academy, inherited the lead during the opening lap when pole-sitter Egor Orudzhev (Arden Motorsport) went off-track in turn 8 and damaged his front wing on a kerb. He was joined on the podium by Matthieu Vaxiviere (SMP Racing) and Tom Dillmann (AVF).

 Louis Delétraz (Fortec Motorsports)

“It was a very good race after we run great in qualifying but Egor beat us. At the start I held my position, but when he went out I took the point and just had to manage the lead until the finish. Tomorrow we will have another qualy and another race so we will have to focus on trying to do it all again. We are ready to do it, as this morning were good and we have nothing to fix”.

Matthieu Vaxiviere (SMP Racing)
“I can be satisfied about the race today as I started P10 and I finished second. We worked well during the winter but we had some issue during the week-end, so basically this morning’s qualifying was our practice, and I also hit some traffic. Now we have to work hard on the car to be in the top-3 tomorrow”.
